Horse feed 

A balanced feed plan with the right horse feed is one of the basics of horse husbandry and contributes substantially to the overall wellbeing of your horse. But what does your horse actually need in terms of feed? The basic goal is always to provide a balanced supply of nutrients that is appropriate for the species and adapted to individual needs. The basis of a balanced feed plan is roughage. Hay, silage and straw are the most important roughage for horses. Together with a sufficient supply of clean water, for example using self-waterers, this forms the basis of a healthy diet for your horse. In addition, the amount of feed, the feeding frequency and the feeding times are also important. 

The right feed for horses

Depending on the age, health condition, husbandry, breed and the respective performance requirements, roughage alone cannot always cover the horse's daily needs. A good feed plan therefore includes, depending on the performance requirements, suitable Contentrated Feed, Mash for horses or horse muesli, as well as mineral feed, vitamins & minerals, building on a high-quality basic feed. As a rule, the classic concentrated feed consists of cereals such as oats, maize or barley. Horse muesli and mash horse feed are becoming increasingly popular. Both can be used as concentrated feed for horses. Some mueslis for horses are enriched with sufficient amounts of minerals. In the case of non-mineralised horse mueslis or the classic concentrated feed in cereal form, a mineral feed should also be fed. A balanced feeding plan consisting of roughage, concentrate and minerals is crucial for health and a healthy balance in the horse's body. In the case of health problems, advanced age or extraordinary challenges due to sports and breeding, additional requirements must be met by the horse's feed.
